The MIG DC – Data Center project, located in Kuningan, Jakarta, is a high-security, mission-critical infrastructure initiative developed by PT Tatamulia Nusantara Indah. The project has been active since 2022 and focuses on delivering a state-of-the-art data center built to international performance and uptime standards.
To meet the stringent coordination, performance, and accuracy requirements, the project team fully embraced BIM (Building Information Modeling) as its primary delivery tool.
The BIM implementation covered multiple critical areas:
BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
Architectural, Structural, and MEP Modeling
Clash Detection and Coordination Report
Clash Resolution Management
BIM Model at Level of Detail (LOD) 400 for construction readiness
Through BIM, the entire data center was digitally built and simulated before physical construction, ensuring every spatial and technical element was coordinated across disciplines. Key actions included:
Detailed clash detection analysis, identifying hundreds of potential conflicts between MEP, structural, and architectural systems.
BIM Monitoring Updates to provide real-time insights for consultants and contractors.
Use of 3D coordination environments to highlight and resolve spatial conflicts, reducing rework risk during construction.
Visual documentation from the model shows detailed modeling of:
Electrical room equipment
Raised floors with mechanical routing
Dense pipe and duct systems requiring high-precision coordination
Accurate working drawings extracted from the model
Integrated and clash-free layouts, enhancing installability
Digital review tools and issue tracking platforms
Improved communication across the project team
These deliverables minimized ambiguity during construction and ensured the contractor could proceed confidently with procurement and installation.
As data centers are complex, high-value facilities that require maximum uptime and zero tolerance for error, BIM became a crucial enabler of precision, predictability, and accountability. MIG DC sets a new standard for how digital coordination can support mission-critical architecture in Indonesia.
The MIG DC Data Center is a benchmark project that showcases the power of BIM in delivering complex infrastructure. Through model-based coordination and proactive clash resolution, the project team minimized construction risk and maximized efficiency — reaffirming BIM as a cornerstone of reliable, modern data center development.
